Is anyone else dying for the Hunger Games movie to come out?! Well, this will hopefully tide you over. This blog is dedicated to Capitol Couture, complete with cover stories, profiles and fashion guides to what the Capitol people are wearing. Amazing! Already we know that Effie Trinket, played by Elizabeth Banks, will be wearing 24-carat Steve McQueen peep-toes. EEP!

From what I’ve seen of the costumes in the movie, they hired a phenomenal costume designer.

It looks like a new site, amping up the release of the movie, so we’ll  have to check back frequently to see what else is chic in the Capitol.

Can March 23rd come ANY SOONER?! BAHHHH!!!!

Also, visit District 1 here. This is seriously the best internet interaction for a movie I’ve ever seen. YES.

Dating: Alexa Chung on Chelsea Lately

Alexa Chung was a recent guest on Chelsea Lately, promoting her new show ’24 hour Catwalk’. Ross Mathews, who is doing a great job of host-replacement btw, revealed that Alexa Chung is on the prowl. She jokingly admitted to accepting dates over Twitter. Oh boy.

The stylish Chung, and former MTV host (I liked ‘It’s On’, damn you MTV!) used to date Arctic Monkeys front man Alex Turner. But they broke up in July 2011. Whatevs, frontmen seem like a lot of work anyways. Divas!

This tweet, surely to be one of many, is a charming peek into the world of dating through the internet:

How wonderful! Dating rocks.

Chung’s new show, 24 Hour Catwalk, looks interesting. I don’t normally watch reality or competition shows, but I might actually give this one a try. The contestants have 24 hours to make weird shit look fashionable. It sounds exactly like poor, 20 somethings digging through years of fashion mistakes, trying to make something look chic.

Check out obsessive Alexa Chung fashion photos here.

Chelsea is on fire

By the by, Chelsea Handler is blowing the fuck up. Chelsea Lately and After Chelsea on E! are getting better and better. After Chelsea is getting some sick cameos like Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Jane Fonda. Plus her show on NBC ‘Are You There, Chelsea?‘ is doing okay I think. I haven’t checked it out yet.

AND Chelsea is in a new movie with Reese Witherspoon called “This Means War” that looks promising. Two hot spies are fighting over Reese Witherspoon, blowing shit up and lots of kissing. That’s like my dream. Jealz!

Fashion: São Paulo Fashion Week

São Paulo Fashion Week is in full force. Check out some pics and updates from Brazilian blog Garotas Estúpidas!!!

As the seasons are inverted south of the equator, South American fashion shows, like SPFW, are previewing winter 2012 fashion lines now.

Sneakers are very popular in many South American countries like Chile and Brazil. These hybrid sneakers from francesa Isabel Marant have wedge heels and are surely making waves in SA. How cool is that?!

Fashion: Fashion’s Night Out set for Sept. 6

Yay! Fashion’s Night Out 2012 has been set for Sept. 6.

Fashion’s Night Out started in 2009 and was a joint initiative between Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). Each year FNO gets bigger and more global: 2010 brought participation in 16 different countries around the world, including South Korea, France, Brazil and Turkey, among others.

There are even events online during FNO, which is great for everyone not residing in a fabulous big city. Maybe FNO will become a fashionista vacay to his or her nearest FNO city. FASHION ROAD TRIP!

Let’s hope this year brings even more events, online and real life, as well as more deals from our favorite designers. Now the wait begins to see which stores will be opening their doors for one of fashion’s biggest nights.

Music: Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey is bursting onto the music scene this year with a hot new song, “Video Games,” and not-so-hot performances on SNL. Although she hasn’t interviewed post-SNL snafu, she did talk with MTV before the performance saying that she doesn’t like live television:

You can’t expect too much from my show,” Del Rey said, explaining that her real fans are probably aware that she’s more of a songwriter and studio musician than performer and that she thinks people who come to see her show are really just there to hear the songs they already like.

Sometimes I feel less nervous than other times,” she added. “I don’t love live television. The only tip I have is just pray and just hope that things work out,” writes Gil Kaufman on mtv.com.

Bad performances happen, especially when you’re first starting out. Her fans are really enthusiastic about her upcoming album, Born to Die, which is set to be released January 31, 2012 in the States. Her 60s-vibe album is a breath of fresh air in a world that unfortunately hasn’t had enough of LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem.”

Now that's some f-ing class and attitude. Photo: via thatgrapejuice.net

Her style is great, and her hair is f-ing gorgeous to the point where it looks like a wig. She needs to share her shine tips like NOW.

Listen to this video. It is another live performance, filmed in a swanky hotel, that is miles above Earth better than her SNL debut.

Fashion Icon: Clarissa Explains it All

The absolute, hands down fashion icon of 90s children’s programming, Clarissa Darling.

Rent the discs on Netflix, seriously. The show is oddly smart for children’s shows. That’s how awesome the 90s were. Le sigh.

And her CLOTHES. Inventive, crazy, fun.

This outfit is sick.
We now know where this trend came from. Thanks, Clarissa.
