Holy moly!!! That is some fierce shit. A lot better than her first Vogue cover. I feel like she’s channeling RuPaul in the best way ever. Is that red banner shit a September issue thing or what? It looks weird. Besides that, awesome cover. If only I had money to go fall fashion shopping. SIGH. This 20 poor and fabulous shit isn’t glamourous come fall fashion season!
If only they filmed The September Issuewhen Gaga was the muse! Sienna Miller is awesome, but it would have been cool to see Gaga from an angle that isn’t her own. Right?!
A great article from Vogue interviewing Adele in December 2011, before she won 6 Grammys.
“ ‘Chasing Pavements’ came from me running down Oxford Street. I had punched my ex in a pub and then ran away from security. And then I just kept running even though they weren’t chasing me anymore. I was running from something. And I didn’t know what. I was just chasing a pavement. And I was like, Ka-ching! I will get my record-deal money now! And then with ‘Rolling in the Deep,’ there’s a gang phrase in the U.K., roll deep, that basically means having someone have your back so you are never on your own if you come into trouble. It’s a real gangster thing, but I think it’s really beautiful. So I just turned it into ‘Rolling in the Deep.’ ”
Fashion’s Night Out started in 2009 and was a joint initiative between Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). Each year FNO gets bigger and more global: 2010 brought participation in 16 different countries around the world, including South Korea, France, Brazil and Turkey, among others.
There are even events online during FNO, which is great for everyone not residing in a fabulous big city. Maybe FNO will become a fashionista vacay to his or her nearest FNO city. FASHION ROAD TRIP!
Let’s hope this year brings even more events, online and real life, as well as more deals from our favorite designers. Now the wait begins to see which stores will be opening their doors for one of fashion’s biggest nights.
