This is cool: The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl

Yeah girl, your webisodes rock. Image via ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com

My great friend Kayla just introduced me to these little jems of joy. I want to spoon cuddle J (main character), write lyrics about shitty ex-boyfriends and stay up all night talking for hours together.

According to the ABG website, there are plans to turn this web series into a half hour sitcom! How cool! I love how Youtube opens doors for creative and talented folk like Issa Rae to get the attention they deserve.

Check out the first two videos. They are short, sweet and will make you fall in love with the best ABG. The car thing in episode one happened to me today.

Look out, Etsy. Lilyshop lets you post homemade goodies fo’ free

OOOO!! A handmade, online market throwdown! Not really, but can you imagine the furious crocheting?! Needles and tangled string EVERYWHERE! Like a muppet murder mystery, but with a business-saavy edge.

Meet Lilyshop. Like Etsy, she’s an online marketplace to sell your homemade goods. But unlike Etsy, you don’t have to pay a listing fee, and you can list and re-list as many items as you like. However, they do charge a 5% sales fee only on sold items, which is nice for those of us who make questionable crafts we think people will buy but they never do. Read: Regretsy.

I’m not sure how long Lilyshop has been around, but this no upfront fee seems like a pretty smart move. There’s nothing people love more than posting free crafts to sell! (Just kidding, but it’s a definite plus) Being able to post this or this or this and not have to pay anything if it doesn’t sell is a God send to struggling craftspeople around the globe. Who knows, maybe the paper mache belts and handbags made of Zac Efron photos will hit it big one day!

Interweb: Sexy People Blog

Remember the 80s and 90s when the world was less overpopulated, the internet wasn’t massively born yet and pictures like this happened in the future shitty malls of America?! Some are cute, some are horrifying, and some make you glad your mom never actually forced you to go into Glamour Shots (although she asked nicely threatened it a couple of times). Embarrassing pictures are a national, even international pastime. Maybe that will bring world peace. Everyone uploads a most embarrassing photo, we laugh, we cry, we hold each other until the sun sets. Or someone makes fun of someone’s unfortunate head shape and a nuclear bomb goes off. This world is just so crazy y’all.

Check out this blog full of really, very SEXY PEOPLE.

Interweb: Jenna Marbles’ Drunk Makeup Tutorial

F'real. Image via youtube

I’ve never watched a Jenna Marbles episode before on Youtube, mainly because her name is ‘Jenna Marbles’ and that kind of sounds like a D-list comedienne from Gary, Indiana or something. Like she eats farts and then vlogs about it. But no. She’s the kind of gal you wanna get day drunk with at a kid’s t-ball game deep in the midwest.

Her drunk makeup tutorial is so fucking true. Having to get ready for a night of drinking after a day of drinking is a serious hurdle. Eyeliner has never been harder, blush has never been so bright and mascara gets everywhere. I thought she look good until the the fake eyelashes, which I’ve never used before because they seem like way too much work. Dudes will never notice fake eyelashes. And if they do, they’re probably serial killers.

Pinterest is so crazy. It’s just a bunch of aesthetically pleasing pictures that you categorize into your own personal “pin board.” Just a bunch o’ ladies (and minimal dudes) organizing the internet. NBD. It seems like a huge waste of time, but it really doesn’t take long to pin some stuff. I think it’s two clicks. Bizarre, yet entertaining.
