Fashion: Color for spring

Yay for Feist fans! She’s going on tour this spring, and hopefully landing in a city near you. Unfortunately she’s not coming to my neck of the country, but that’s ok because I’ve got St. Vincent tickets to calm my cries. I’m still a little jealz though. I also stood in line for 40 minutes for Florence & the Machine tickets in Minneapolis, but they sold out in 40 minutes and weren’t being sold online. Which was pretty upsetting seeing as Ticketmaster should have gotten their shit together. Why don’t these lovely acts spend more time in our cities, hmm?! HINT HINT!

That’s some great cover art right there. Madonna’s MDNA, which is a play on her name and a popular drug. She explained the name a little more to Leno saying, “You’ve heard of this drug that produces euphoric feelings of love, MDMA…”
Oh COME ON Posh Spice!!!
Rumour has it that Posh Spice is keen on joining the rest of the bunch for a couple of shows for the Summer Olympics in London, but she’s so busy with her fashion lines that she doesn’t know if she’ll have time. Cripes!
Granted, reunion tours are never the same as when the group was at their height. Maybe because their wardrobe isn’t the same anymore. I want to see union jacks and platforms EVERYWHERE.
I don’t know about you guys, but I remember the day I heard on the radio (yes the radio, back when they actually had breaking news) that the Spice Girls were breaking up. I was sitting in the back of my mom’s van, around 9 years old, and I cried my eyes out. I honestly don’t know if I could ever forgive Ginger for leaving the group. Still.
Unfortunately during their short-lived reunion tour, The SG didn’t come anywhere near where I lived. Plus I was in college with no money. Boo!
Let’s hope Posh will find it in her heart to commit to some Spice Girls shows. And come to me so I can fulfill a childhood dream.
If I liked Kristen Bell before watching this, then now I am full blown in love with her. This video is heartwarming and hilarious, you HAVE to watch it. In short, she has a panic attack because she loves sloths so much. She is so awesome. Check it out!!!!
Ladyhawke has a new album coming out March 27th stateside! Check out a remix of “Black, White and Blue” off of her upcoming album, Anxiety.
One of my favorite things to do to relax is take a bubble bath, sip on a glass of wine and listen to music. The best part is that it’s a very cheap relaxation ritual!
Bubble baths are amazing. Really. I am a huge fan of bubble baths, as they are so luxurious for literally spending pennies on allowing yourself to wind down.
The great thing about bubble baths is that you really don’t have to spend a lot of money on them. I’ve always used random ones from Target or Walmart, like Lander that is around $3. Bubble baths that I’ve bought at Walmart have been better than expensive ones from department stores.
I actually tried some ‘designer’ bubble bath that I bought at Macy’s, thinking the bubbles would be like, the silkiest and biggest bubbles alive and that I’d probably drown in them from sheer luxury. I picked out Philosophy’s Raspberry Sorbet 3-in-1 shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath for $16, and it turned out to be the most lackluster bubble bath of my life. So in the case of bubble baths, the cheaper, the better.
Another great addition to inexpensive bathtime relaxation is wine. I’m a firm believer in wine for all occasions. What better way to unwind than with a bubble bath AND wine?!
One really great wine with a reasonable price is Chilean wine from Concha y Toro. Their FronteraCabernet Sauvignon runs around $10 a bottle and is really good imported wine for the price. I used to buy a bottle for $4 when I lived in Chile. Sigh!
If you’re like me and need something to take your mind of the day or your schedule tomorrow, playing relaxing music or a podcast is a great way to further your relaxation escape. Depending on my mood, I would choose classical music when I was feeling regal, ambient when I wanted to get lost in music and podcasts when I wanted to listen. You can find music for free through pandora or last.fm and podcasts are always free on itunes.
Grab a book or a magazine, light some candles and just relax. After all, it’s nice to break away from everyday stresses and technology if only for 20 minutes. Sometimes I find it difficult to relax, but it is such a necessary part of our routine. I hope you find time to relax and spend on yourself, because your serenity, even on a budget, is important.
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! A resounding cheer of joy is heard around the world as we learn that the whole cast of Arrested Development is confirmed for the new season. That means Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Jeffrey Tambor, David Cross, Michael Cera, Portia De Rossi, Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat and Jessica Walter.
Writer Dean Lorey tells us via his blog that the new season of AD will premiere sometime in 2013 with 10 episodes exclusively airing on Netflix.
“We’re really doing this thing. Mitch Hurwitz, Jim Vallely and I are off writing the new season of ARRESTED to premiere on Netflix in 2013. The original cast is back. There are offices and parking spaces. We’re shooting this year. I wish I could give more specifics but, for the moment, even the schedule is being kept under wraps. But it’s happening and it’s great to be back with my pals from the show. More later as it becomes okay to release further details…”
The new season of Arrested Development will act as a sort of gateway into the movie that will follow the end of the upcoming season. I can’t wait to see what the Bluths have been up to for the past 7-8 years, because I’m betting they’ve gotten into some pretty weird shit.
YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
