Poliça‘s new music video for “Amongster” could be a sexier jaunt from the days when Discovery channel and National Geographic actually showed anything pertaining to nature. You know, instead of such gripping programs as Alaska State Troopers, Doomsday Preppers or American Chopper. Maybe Poliça should be put in charge of their programming. At least then we’d have some hip kids looking at bugs in the woods with magnifying glasses, instead of motorcycle drama that has nothing to do with anything.
Check out the beautiful video already! There are hot people in it too, along with snakes, porcupines and snails.
Oh, Teen Mom. The infamous show detailing the struggles of teen moms from very small towns no one has ever heard of. The teen moms showcased in the show have so many problems it almost seems rude to film them and expose all their problems. But then again, maybe other teens learn from it. Let’s examine Teen Mom.
Pieces of shit like this are procreating. And then late for homeroom. Smart people, please have children. We have to offset the "Idiocracy" imbalance. Photo via starcasm.net
The Evidence
The show does show how terrible these teen moms’ lives are. If anything positive can be gained from Teen Mom, it’s that having a baby in your teens is awful and makes your life super shitty and no fun. And teens need to see that, because it ain’t glamourous. +5
The girls from the show are falling in lust with fame-and it is not being kind to them. Amber Portwood is in and out of jail for things as serious as assaulting her child’s father. She just recently avoided 5 years in prison over drug charges and will be going to rehab and a halfway house. Teen mom Leah, with two twin girls, cheated on their father right before their wedding, got divorced, got engaged again and pregnant again, all to have a miscarriage. Now it’s been reported that she wants to be a pageant mom. Reality show overload. Oh, and Jenelle is a terrible mother with drug problems and general disrespect for her mother, who is raising her child. –25
They make 6 figures from MTV. Good for them, but bad for their behavior and lifestyles. -5
Great, call the paparazzi and hangout at the beach. Where's your kid again? Image via crushable.com
Instead of, you know, saving the biggest paycheck of her life for her future and, God forbid the future of her child, teen mom Farrah got a boob job. -10
The teen moms get way too many covers on the gossip rags. Bleg. Let’s keep it to real celebrities. I’d rather be depressed at how much the Kardashian’s make each year, instead of reading about how someone is neglecting their child for fame. -3
Maybe their stories are prime examples of why health class NEEDS to talk about something a little more than abstinence. Teens are idiots living in bubbles, they know nothing. +2
The Score
-38
I guess the gals from Teen Mom tie Chris Brown for the lowest ‘On the fence’ score. What an honor! The only positive I can find in Teen Mom is that these girls serve as a warning to other teens who are thinking about sex and having a baby at such a young age. Plus, the guys they “love,” date and unfortunately procreated with are total losers and terrible fathers too. The teen moms’ drug problems, anger control issues and lust for the spotlight are all despicable qualities, even for a reality show.
Zetus Lapetus! I bet you haven’t heard that in a while!
The Foo Fighters reportedly want to record in SPACE. They would be the first rock band, or any band for that matter to do so. Maybe they’ll back Newt Gingrich and have a music recording sesh party on the moon! Nah, they can do it without his crazy lurking around craters and harshin’ their vibe. He’d probably murder them and steal their music. Who’s the pirate now, Gingy?
This is a totally cool idea. And totally part of the plot of Zenon Girl of the 21st Century, that I am DYING TO WATCH now.
My early aught girlfriends. That's so Raven you guys! Pure gold. Those are some sick outfits too. Image via isambie.blogspot.com
I guess Beyoncé and Jay-Z wanted to be firsties to record in space. And to be honest, they certainly have a TON of money and connections, probably more so than the Foo Fighters do. But for some reason, I think rock music in space would be way cooler than R&B/hip-hop.
I don’t doubt that Bey and Jay could make some sick music in the space waves, but I don’t you think rock music would sound even more badass in space? Plus, Protozoa showed us it’s pretty f-ing cool.
Besides, it may look a little something like this (ok it won’t at all but shit, it’s Protozoa!!!!!!!):
Beautiful girl! So jealous of her hair color. I'm afraid working in the Districts of Panem restricts me from dying my hair this color. Image via lovecatmag.com
We sort of grew up with Kelly Osbourne. She was in our lives on MTV’s The Osbournes and briefly as a singer. However, the troubled girl we grew up with has grown into quite a nice young lady.
First, I am OBSESSED with her hair color choices. Instead of being bright pink, blue, or whatever terrible dye job Katy Perry is doing (sorry gurl, you need a new hairstylist!), Kelly chooses lighter shades of purple, pink and grey to accent her ever changing chic personal style.
Love her. Image via blog.lockandmane.com
As far as her career goes, she has a drool-worthy gig as a Fashion anchor on E!’s Fashion Police, not to mention getting to work AND walk the red carpet at the events she attends. She’s really good as an anchor as well, so none of this “she only got the job because… xyz” shit. She’s charismatic, stylish and reasonably critical.
She is the poster girl for being able to turn one’s life around. On The Osbournes, we saw an out of control, unhealthy version of Kelly. Now she is healthy, in shape and in control of her life. A role model for anyone struggling with substance abuse and/or weight loss. Diet and exercise, folks!
Known for having a dirty mouth, Kelly has curbed a lot of her “fucks” but still keeps them going when the time is appropriate.
She was engaged to Luke Worrall, but kicked his ass to the curb after she caught him cheating on her. You go girl! Cheating is so passé.
All in all, Kelly Osbourne is our favorite working girl with great hair and great style. WERK!
Fashion week, fashion week, everyone loves fashion weeeeeeek! (Except when you’re not there and digging through the internet to find the goods!) We get to see the best (and worst) fashions for the thrilling upcoming fall fashion season.
Here are the hits, misses and hot messes for New York Fashion Week 2012.
**** MEGA MEGA MEGA HIT: Marc Jacobs Fall 2012 ****
OH MY GOD. YES YES A THOUSAND TIMES YESSSSS!!!! This is my Downton Abbey meets Hunger Games’ Capitol meets the future of fashion fantasy line. This is what I’ve been hoping and praying would walk down a catwalk this New York Fashion Week. First of all, the hats are a little ridiculously reminiscent of those crazy top hats from the 90’s that you could win at fairs. Sort of Cat in the Hat meets high fashion. I’ll take it! The pink, fitted jacket is absolutely gorgeous. VERY Capitol and Effie Trinket. The shoes are all amazing as well, with some amish buckles/mary jane lovin’. It’s so Victorian, so chic, big and fun. There’s so much personality in each outfit. This is what getting dressed in the morning should look like. Fun, exciting, and reminding us that life is colorful and creative. Very well done, Marc Jacobs!!!!!!!!

**** Hit: Monique Lhuillier 2012 Fall ****
Ahhhhhh, this dress is soooo pretty. That’s it.

**** Hit: Victoria Beckham AW/12 ****
I love this polo dress SO MUCH. Victoria Beckham knows whats up. The maroon and blue paired with red lips is like working-girl fashion overdrive. She would take any entry-level position and turn it into CEO in like, 5 minutes. Without having to reapply lipstick. Get it girl!

**** Hit: Carlos Miele Fall 2012 ****
It’s Spanish cowgirl meets midnight ballroom. My cowgirl dream come true.

**** Hit: Marc Bouwer ****
This is amazing. It reminds me of Lady Gaga’s first VMA performance. I would totally wear this headpiece and dress anywhere. Even around the house to feel regal. Amazing.

**** Hit: Anna Sui Fall 2012 ****
Gorgeous! It reminds me of The Borrowers for some reason. Like some chic house filled with four-inch people who have a green thumb for stitching and styling. Fabulous. One of my favorite collections, besides Marc Jacobs of course! Check out the nymag gallery. It’s amazing.

**** Hit: Milly by Michelle Smith Fall 2012 ****
I love this look so much. A lot of the Milly by Michelle Smith Fall 2012 line includes this vibrant deep blue-purple color that I love so dearly. There is even a coat in the color which is absolutely stunning. The entire line is playful and girly, the way we’d all like to dress for fancy but sweet social affairs. LOVE.

**** Hit: The Blonds RTW Fall 2012 ****
The entire vibe of The Blonds runway show was biker chic. You can almost smell the cigarettes and cheap perfume. Rock. My favorite part is the helmets, as they have looooong blonde ponytails flowing out from them. FABULOUS. The outfit below really caught my eye. What an amazing outfit. The jacket is somewhere in between colorful biker, large muppet and 70s Elton John. I don’t care if it’s menswear (holy buldge!), I would totally wear this outfit. With a studded bra or something. LOVE IT. Check out The Blonds gallery here.

**** Hit: Jeremy Scott Fall 2012 ****
First thought: Holy shit. Holy shit, YES. Um, the unicorn dress? Pure genius. Want. NEED! The smiley face heart sweater? I’ll take 3. And the multi-colored fabulous-beyond-fabulous cousin of Chewbacca is one for the ages. What an exciting line. Jeremy Scott, you rock.

—- Miss: Oscar de la Renta Fall 2012 —-
This outfit is all sorts of wrong. First of all, it looks cheap, which is due to the shade of pink chosen. The pants look like they could come from Forever 21. In fact, the entire outfit does. I’d say, if you’re not 17 and on a school trip to the local ski resort, this outfit is a total miss. Cute headband though.

Oh dear, good Lord of mine. This is terribly unflattering. Of course, it looks like an oversized semi-chic morsel on the teeny model, but can you imagine this piece on a woman with hips? Goodness. There is so much fabric going on in this piece. If the neck hole wasn’t appropriately sized, I’d think she was given a school uniform 5 sizes too big. I can’t say I’ve ever really liked dress lengths that fall at half calf length, so a bias may lay there. However, the shoes are great and the color is simply fabulous.

I LOVE this hat, and I love the dress. But the color is so offputting. There’s no way anyone would NOT think about diarrhea upon seeing this color. No way.

!!!! Hot Mess: DKNY Fall 2012 !!!!
This look makes me cringe. It looks like those leather jackets we all had in 7th grade from some leather store at the local mall. I just can’t get over the pleathery, matchy-matchy look of the leather and black that so many frizzy haired girls wore from Wilson’s Leather. Don’t forget the butterfly clips!

!!!! Hot Mess: Theyskens Fall 2012 !!!!
Oh good lord. I didn’t know Old Navy had a runway show. Good boots though!
I love Coco and Ice-T. I’m such a sucker for a true love story, especially in Hollywood. With so many shitty, 72-day marriages and general disregard for commitment in the egomaniacal world of Hollywood, it’s refreshing to see a couple that has lasted almost 11 years. In Hollywood, where we can treat lengths of relationships like dog years, that’s like 37 years and 5 kids together.

Upon watching their E! True Hollywood Story (easily one of the most entertaining shows eva) I learned a lot about their relationship and even got a little choked up (read: I NEED A FULL TIME JOB). They seem so genuinely in love and true companions. Coco could so easily be written off as a bimbo with fake boobs, but every time I see her on television she seems sweet, caring and a nice person with a super bodacious body and personality. She even has a clothing line for curvy girls called “Licious” which is hilarious.
I actually really like their reality show Ice Loves Coco. Again, like my opinion of the Kardashians, Ice and Coco are focused people with careers and ambitions and a light-hearted, committed relationship. Which, in the day and age of reality shows, I’ll take some self-indulgent celebrities with good heads on their shoulders and no drug/alcohol addictions any day over Jersey Shore.
Also, Ice said this: “Diet food is for lazy people.” Amazing. Ice Loves Coco may just be my new fave reality show.
Hellz yeah Joan Rivers. Image via indiescream.wordpress.com
Joan Rivers. What a woman. I love watching her on E!’s Fashion Police. She can say literally whatever she wants about anyone. She’s a comedienne, dammit! She says what we think so we don’t have to be the assholes who said “her job is to look good and throw up her lunch.” Oh Joan, we love you so!
Check out the vids for some current and vintage JR snark and hilarity.

The first note I heard from the band, Regina, I fell in love. The music is so sweet to the ears, without being overbearing. Like a nice neighbor kid with good style.
The dream pop band (I am so in love with dream pop. It’s the calmer, and yes, dreamier, cousin of pop music), composed of three bandmates located in Helsinki, have been busy working on shorts to go along with three songs from their album, Soita Mulle (CallMe in English), thatwas released in September 2011. The shorts have been directed by Osma Harvilahti.
The first two videos of the three part series have been released. They are “Mustavalkeaa” and “Päivät Valuvat” respectively. The song titles are Finnish for “Black and White” and “The Days Are Flowing”.
Get lost for a few minutes in the beautiful music and videos.
